HUNTINGBURG, IN (WFIE) -
A Chandler man is arrested after authorities say he stole fuel and led several agencies on a chase.
Huntingburg Police say it began in Dubois County Friday night when they believe 29-year old Preston Hayes took off from a Casey's General Store without paying for nearly $60 worth of gas.
Minutes later, Hayes was spotted by the Dale Town Marshall. Authorities say Hayes drove into the town of Dale, abandoned his vehicle and then fled on foot.
Hayes was finally arrested at his girlfriend's home in Dale.
He is being held at the Spencer County Jail charged with driving with a suspended license, resisting law enforcement, reckless driving, and may also face theft charges in Dubois County.
