The first Dunkin' Donuts opens in Owensboro Monday morning, drawing big crowds waiting to get a taste.
Most remember their first bike, or car, but how about their first doughnut?
"I grew up right there where they use to make the doughnuts and everything," says Owensboro resident David Leonerd.
From Boston to Chicago and now in Owensboro, Dunkin' Donuts open as the first store, and is already a hit.
Sam Patel know's the brand well, working at a shop in Illinois for years before owning his own and getting into the hotel business. Now his daughter, Nita Patel, is following the same path.
Patel says she expects to open a couple more stores in the next few years in Owensboro and says the name will do well here.
"It will do great because it's the first one and the location is great."
Thirty employees will operate this first shop with half the staff working Monday morning helping huge crowds.
The first 100 people visiting the store Monday morning received a months worth of free coffee. Residents can expect more giveaways Friday morning as well.
