14 News is learning more about a shooting in Hopkins County that left one man dead and three law enforcement officers hurt.
It happened Monday night on Section House Lane in Hanson.
Two sheriff's deputies and a Kentucky State Trooper were shot after responding to a call that 25-year-old Dustin Barnes' was suicidal.
Authorities say they worked with Barnes to calm him down, but about an hour after the call, a shootout ensued.
Deputy Mark Gentry, Deputy Jamie Lampton, and Trooper Ryan Fox were the injured officers.
Law enforcement fired back at Barnes, and the 25-year-old died from his injuries. The two deputies and state trooper were taken to the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Deputy Gentry and Trooper Fox were treated and released. Deputy Lampton underwent surgery, but authorities say he's going to be fine.
The Hopkins County Sheriff's Department, the Hanson Volunteer Fire Department, and Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
KSP say Trooper Fox has been placed on paid administrative leave and the investigation is still ongoing.
