There's growing excitement and energy in the community and you can feel it in downtown Evansville.
So far, the new Ford Center has lived up to its promise of bringing more people downtown.
There were big crowds for the Bob Seger and Reba concerts, the Icemen hockey home opener and the University of Evansville basketball games with Butler and IU.
More parking spaces are available, as businesses open their lots to pay to park.
And merchants are seeing that surge of downtown visitors.
Now, we hear the convention and visitors bureau has launched a new campaign, marketing Evansville as a tourist destination.
There will be inserts in area newspapers and radio spots selling the city.
The CVB is spending $125,000 this year, and a half million next year.
We like what we see and applaud and encourage those leading the effort.
