CARMI, IL (WFIE) - This is week six of our Get Fit campaign.
We spoke with Sarah Clark, a 14 News viewer who has taken up the Get Fit pledges.
Sarah Clark caught up with 14 News in Carmi where she lives.
She walked with her husband and two children to the recent 14 Weather Tour.
Sarah told Chief Meteorologist Jeff Lyons how she was doing on the Get Fit pledges.
Sarah said she'd given up sodas and cut down on the fried food she eats.
"Trying to cook more at home. Trying to fix more vegetables, and fruits, and lay off the fried foods. Been trying to bake stuff," Clark said.
Sarah says that as a result, she's sleeping better and doesn't have the stomach pains she once did.
"I seem to have more energy," Sarah said.
So why did she take on the pledges? "I lost my mother at a young age, when I was 12 to diabetes, so I just didn't want to end up like that. I wanted to see my kids grow up instead of what I had to go through."
Sarah even took on the latest pledge to get more activity by walking with her family to see Jeff live in Carmi. Good job Sarah!
