There was a big drug roundup in Southwest Kentucky to tell you about.
Murray Kentucky Police, the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force, and Kentucky State Police teamed up this morning to make several drug arrests around Calloway County.
Police say the roundup comes after several months of investigation.
Trooper Dean Patterson says this operation is all about protecting local families.
"I would like to think that the community sleeps better to know these people who are trafficking drugs in their neighborhoods. At least they won't be doing it for the next few days or weeks hopefully. Anytime you get a drug dealer off the streets, you're making those streets safer for your children."
Two dozen people have been arrested so far and more arrests are expected.
All of them face multiple drug charges.
