EPD: Suspects on the run after bank robbery on Lincoln Ave

Posted: Updated:

The Evansville Police Department says two bank robbers are still on the run Saturday night.

Officers say they have a loose description of the suspects: a stocky built man, around 5'10, wearing black jeans and a black hoodie. They say the female is around 5'5, and both suspects were wearing masks.

Evansville Police were dispatched just before 10 a.m. Saturday to the Old National Bank on Lincoln Avenue after employees told them two people entered the store, and demanded money from the teller.

Officers say the suspects did make off with an amount, but police are still investigating how much.

Evansville Police Sergeant Josh Wittmer says this particular Old National branch is located in a fairly residential area with the University of Evansville right across the street, and it isn't a place they would expect trouble.

Sgt. Wittmer says, "Usually seems to be the ones that are closer to the roads like the interstates, or more crowded roads."

He says the high number of people potentially around the area could hopefully assist them in developing leads.

Officers say the pair might be traveling in what's described as a white Cadillac Deville.

Anyone with information is asked to call Evansville Police.
