IHOP in Evansville reopens after FBI raid

Posted: Updated:
EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

The IHOP on the east end of Evansville is back open on Wednesday after an FBI raid on Tuesday.

14 News spoke with manager Tarek Omar, and he says they're fully back and running. However, he says business was slower than before the raid.

He says he suspects people were a little scared after seeing police cars and FBI officials surrounding the store.

Officials are still not releasing the reason they searched the IHOP and six others in Ohio, but IHOP's parent company, Dine Equity, says all seven are owned by the same person, a man who locally goes by the name Terry Elks.

The FBI says they continues to investigate Elks' restaurant.
