'Arrive alive, don't text & drive' signs going up in Indiana

Posted: Updated:
Indianapolis, Indiana (NBC) -

A new effort is underway to keep Indiana residents from breaking the law.

The signs say, "No texting while driving... It's the law" and "Arrive alive, don't text and drive."

State police say so far, they have issued 25 tickets and 24 warnings since the law took effect July 1.

The signs will be displayed through Sunday.

State police records show 1,200 crashes in Indiana last year involved cell phones as a contributing factor.
