On Saturday, a crash involving a Knox County Deputy leaves one dead and four others injured. The accident occurred at the corner of North 17th and Busseron Streets, killing 4-year-old Jordan Walls.
Indiana State Police say Knox County Sheriff's Deputy John Fuller was traveling westbound on Busseron chasing after a car that failed to stop at the intersection. Indiana State Police say Deputy Fuller went through the stop sign, colliding into a mini-van.
Walls's grandfather says the grandkids' names were carved into the steps of his home just this week. Relatives have fond memories of little Jordan, like him riding a battery-operated Harley Davidson in the yard.
Family and friends say they're concerned about the idea of police chases in city neighborhoods.
Resident Rick Walls says, "There's little kids all down the street that ride bicycles and play."
Relative Glenda Cooper says, "They shouldn't be chasing people around Vincennes. They've got radios. Let them radio. All four corners of this town or whatever town, stop them like that. Get each other to work together."
One of the van's passengers, 34-year-old Michael Kirby, was airlifted to Saint Mary's in Evansville with serious injuries.
Indiana State Police are still investigating the crash. We'll keep you updated.
