Governor Beshear returning home to political heat

KENTUCKY (WAVE) -

Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear could be returning home to political heat after his visit with troops in Iraq.

On Tuesday, it surfaced that state psychologist Rodney Young is accusing the governor of threatening state workers with termination, unless they contributed to his reelection campaign.

14 News' Ann Komis asked the governor if the accusations are true.

He replied, "I can tell you conclusively that I have never made any kinds of solicitations, any unlawful solicitations to any state worker for any contributions. Our campaign doesn't do that."

As for his trip to Iraq, Governor Beshear will spend time with soldiers from Fort Knox, Fort Campbell, and the Kentucky National Guard. He'll return to Kentucky this weekend.
