ISP:Mother arrested after child wanders off

A Knox Co. woman is arrested after her four-year-old boy was found wandering without any supervision Wednesday afternoon.

Senior Trooper Bill Gadberry responded to 1503 Vigo Street in Vincennes after the child was found. After an unsuccessful attempt to locate the parents, the child was taken to the Department of Child Services in Vincennes.

ISP reports that the mother of the child, Amy Small, 33, of Vincennes, was located 45 minutes later after she reported her son missing.  During a search of her residence, which is located at 1115 Busseron Street, troopers found a small amount of meth and drug paraphernalia.

Small's four sons, ages four, seven, 13 and 15 reside in the residence.

"The inside of the house was in poor living condition," said Gadberry.

The Department of Child Services took custody of all four children.  Small was arrested and taken to the Knox County Jail where she is currently being held on bond.

Her charges include four counts of child neglect, possession of meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
