Laura joined the 14News team in June 2011.
A native of Mount Carmel, Illinois, she is excited to be back in the Tri-State reporting for the station she grew up watching. Laura's interest in news began as a child; she used to "report" the news from her basement studio - a cardboard box TV with a handwritten, typing paper TelePrompTer!
Laura graduated cum laude with high honors from Butler University, where she majored in Electronic Journalism and in Saxophone Performance.
While at Butler, Laura anchored and reported for BTV News, the university's weekly newscast.
Through internships at 14WFIE and at NBC 5 in Chicago, she gained reporting experience in various market sizes, covering topics ranging from the death of a teen in an automobile crash to one of President Obama's Town Hall meetings and the Blackhawks' Stanley Cup victory.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with friends and family, going for walks and bike rides, reading, playing saxophone, and making blankets for local charities.
During basketball season, you can find her cheering on the Butler Bulldogs.
Laura loves to hear what is important to viewers - if you have a story idea, feel free to send her an email or a tweet!
