KENTUCKY (WFIE) -
The economic development group, Northwest Kentucky Forward, has started an investment campaign hoping to raise nearly $3 million to spend on job creation in the region.
Northwest Kentucky Forward is the go-to group for economic development in Henderson, McLean, Union, and Webster counties.
The economic development group can point to Innovative Workflow Technologies as one of its success stories.
Northwest Kentucky Forward convinced IWT to move from Indiana to Henderson, arguing Kentucky could provide the company with low cost power and better incentives.
On Wednesday, Northwest Kentucky Forward asked investors to take a chance in their group. The economic development team wants to raise nearly $3 million to help create around 2,000 jobs in the region in the next five years.
McLean County leaders say they're on board.
McLean County Judge Executive Kelly Thurman says, "We're a small county in size, and we have to invest in economic development. Anytime we can invest in ventures that bring us jobs and opportunities for jobs in our region, we want that to happen."
Northwest Kentucky Forward says it has raised over $2 million in investments.
