State of Emergency declared in Daviess Co

EMA and county officials say that a state of emergency has been declared in Daviess County, Kentucky. 

Judge Executive Al Mattingly called for the State of Emergency just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

Right now, 41 roads are closed in Daviess County. Some of the hardest hit in the Stanley area in the western part of the county.

The county government is purchasing 20,000 sandbags free to residents. Those can be picked up on Wednesday at the Daviess County Government Operations Center off Highway 81.

The storms have caused concern as river levels continue to rise.
