POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) -

There have been rumors circulating that the levee in Butler County has failed.  But, nothing has changed since the sun went down, according to Rick Sliger, Butler County Emergency Manager.

The levee in Butler has not failed. Although, there are some breaches along the levee.

Sliger says as of Monday night at 10 p.m. the levee is "extremely fragile."

Emergency Management are doing evacuations for south-central Butler County.

Specifically, east of Highway 142, and west of the Black River to the state line.

The National Weather Service stresses no one should be driving unless it's an emergency.
