Water rescues in Poplar Bluff

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - Five water rescues have had to be performed late Saturday night in  Poplar Bluff.  According to Lt. David Sutton with the Poplar Bluff Police Department, no one has been taken to the hospital.

Three of the rescues were residential and 2 were car rescues. People have driven in to the water with their cars and have become stranded.  Water has also gone in to and surrounded homes where the rescues have taken place.

Sutton says that the rescues have been scattered throughout the city.

Five intersections have also been closed in the city.

  • Ashcroft Rd. & Saxon St.
  • Woodrow St. & Wilson St.
  • Fair St.
  • North 2nd St. & Relief St.
