DAVIESS CO., KY (WFIE) -

A man is in jail after what Owensboro police say was an early morning meth bust.

About 2:30 Wednesday morning, police investigated a strong chemical odor at a home in the 1600 block of 20th street.

Officers say they saw a man run from the backyard.

A K-9 officer tracked the suspect to 2109 Bluff Avenue where he was apprehended.

Police say 34-year-old James A. Lanham had marijuana and Xanax, as well as three one pot meth labs in his possession.

In a shed, they say they found items consistent with the manufacturing of meth.

Lanham is in the Daviess County Detention Center facing multiple drug charges.
