EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Joshua Academy gets a boost thanks to Fifth Third Bank and the winner of the African American History Maker Campaign.
Darrell Ragland of Evansville won a gift card and $1,000 and he got to choose a non-profit organization to receive $5,300.
He picked Joshua Academy Preschool. The school provides education similar to private schools to those who would otherwise not be able to afford it.
"Its real exciting. To see little children's faces light up, and how valuable education is, and how rewarding it is to be able to help them, it was very rewarding," Ragland says.
The campaign featured 20 African Americans who helped shape US history.
