EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - HOPE of Evansville has gotten a big boost for housing development.

The State Farm Foundation handed the organization a check for $7500 Tuesday.

HOPE provides housing counseling for first-time home buyers and those who are facing foreclosure. They also provide assistance with down payment grants and they are a primary partner in Evansville's Front Door Pride program.

Officials with hope say the money will help continue their efforts.

HOPE has completed fourteen homes, with three currently under construction and they have plans to rehabilitate two homes this year.

The State Farm Insurance Foundation is based in Lafayette.
