VANDERBURGH CO, IN (WFIE) - The suspect accused of slashing a Posey County Sheriff's Deputy makes his first court appearance.
Brandon McManomy, 24, is currently in the Vanderburgh County Jail after being released from the hospital.
Deputies say he stabbed himself in the throat.
Authorities say the attack happened earlier this month when Deputy Dan Montgomery and a state trooper were trying to serve an arrest warrant.
Deputy Montgomery returned to work last week after being slightly injured.
McManomy is accused of sexually assaulting a Murray State University student.
