EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - A local broadcaster who charmed Tri-State children and their parents on channel 14 has died.
Chester 'Chet' Behrman died Tuesday at the Visiting Nurse Association Hospice Center.
He was 86.
In the 1950s and '60s, Chet hosted "Lunch with Uncle Dudley," drawing characters and conversing with a collection of lunch box critters, including Gerry Giraffe.
Chet was also the station program manager.
He brought a quiet dignity to both roles.
He will be remembered as one of the pioneers of local TV.
