WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) - An accident involving an overturned semi truck has shut down Interstate 75 near Cincinnati.
The crash occurred just after 10 a.m. on southbound I-75 near the SR 129 exit. Eyewitnesses say traffic is backed up for miles and a section in Butler County is expected to be closed until at least 6 p.m. Monday.
Investigators say a car was trying to avoid a box that was in the middle of the road, and the truck swerved to avoid hitting the car.
The truck hit the median and overturned, spilling gallons of fuel onto the road. Crews estimate it will take until at least 6 p.m. to clean up.
The driver of the semi truck was taken to West Chester Medical Center, and the driver of the car was taken to Atrium Medical Center. Both are suffering from non-life threatening injuries.
Traffic is being diverted onto SR 129.
