Ozzie Smith coming to Night of Memories

Posted by Rich Miller - email

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - The 2011 Night of Memories is just a few weeks away and the Tri-State Hot Stove League has set its lineup for the annual youth sports fundraiser.

Cardinals' Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith, Pro Football Hall of Famer Raymond Berry and Evansville natives Bob Griese and Don Mattingly will be the featured autograph guests.

Smith, who helped lead the Cardinals to the 1982 World Series championship, won 13 consecutive Gold Gloves and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002. Berry, who was Johnny Unitas' primary target in the 1950s and '60s, was voted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1973.

Other guests are scheduled for the autograph session on Saturday, January 15.

Dozens of pieces of signed sports memorabilia will be auctioned to raise money for sports programs throughout the Tri-State area.
