Araceli Thiele joined the WFIE news team in July 2010 as a weekend anchor and reporter. You can watch Araceli anchoring the Saturday news at 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. and Sunday at 5:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. with Brandon Bartlett.
You can also catch Araceli reporting during the week. In the past, Araceli has reported on everything from county fairs, the flooding of the Mississippi River and the 2008 presidential election.
Araceli was born and raised in Chicago and has reported in Iowa, Missouri and Illinois.
She earned first place in the Missouri Broadcaster's Association for breaking news on an overnight church fire.
Araceli has a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and a master's from DePaul in Broadcast Journalism.
In the free time, Araceli enjoys baking, cooking, working out, shopping, discovering new art and music all over the world and exploring her Mexican heritage.
Araceli is the youngest of six children and loves spending time with her 13 nieces and nephews and her husband, Adam.
