GIBSON Co, IN (WFIE) - Toyota's hiring again at it's Gibson County plant. They need 100 people to help meet the increased demand for their vehicles. What's sparked the need? And how do you apply?
When TMMI announced last month that they would be producing all of the gas engine highlanders for North American Market Company, officials knew adding jobs would be in the near future, but then demand grew.
Starting Tuesday through the next 4 weeks anyone who holds a high school diploma, and has a team player's attitude, Toyota TMMI Spokesperson Kelly Dillon says is eligible to apply.
Kelly says, "This a very positive thing for our plant as well as for the region and the economy."
Applying is simple - go to Aerotek's web site and you'll find a complete list of job openings at the Princeton plant. Fill out the online application and the rest is in the hand of Toyota officials.
Kelly says, "Then there's an interview process as well as a couple of phases of testing and then those team members would start their orientation as soon as possible."
Those full time contract employees hired through Aerotek will receive benefits, such as medical, dental, vision, and a 401 K. Dillon says the plant will benefit from the extra help on the lines and hope there's enough work to keep these workers busy for a long time.
Kelly says, "If the demand stabilizes the hope is that these become permanent Toyota positions."
A production increase at the plant could have some positive economic effect on many of the Toyota suppliers in the area, according to Dillon.
