EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - It was a day for many of us to celebrate Easter in the Tri-State, and in Evansville, thousands did just that at Roberts Stadium.

Every Easter, Crossroads Christian Church moves its services to Roberts Stadium.

Several thousand people took part in those services Sunday morning.

14 News is told it takes hundreds of volunteers to put this on.

Those attending said it's a way to celebrate among friends.

"I mean, I love it every time," Crossroads Christian Church member Michael Pace said. "It's fantastic. My favorite part is just seeing everyone that comes and for the reason they come. Like, if everyone would set aside time in their lives to just observe Christ rising on the third day, and I just think that's really cool to watch. It's probably my favorite part, for me to watch personally."

Church members said they hope to hold their Easter services at the new downtown arena when it opens.
