Unsolved Crime: Ricky Thomas

Missing: November, 1997

Perry County, Indiana

In 1997, Ricky Thomas, 13, disappeared without a trace from his Bristow, Indiana home.

Neighbors last saw him walking to his cousin's house a mile away. He was with his two hunting dog puppies. The dogs haven't been seen since either.

His mother and stepfather don't believe he ran away. They say he was home sick from school the day he disappeared. The last time they saw him he was in bed.

When Ricky vanished, he was 5'9, 170 pounds, with green eyes and blondish-brown hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with "Route 66" on the front, and long jeans shorts. The mother and stepfather were given polygraph tests, but Indiana State Police Detectives by law, can't release the results.

Ricky Thomas' biological father, Ricky Thomas Senior was found dead in his Evansville home. Police say foul play is not expected. It's believed he died of a drug overdose.

Ricky Thomas' picture has been shown nationwide by the National Missing and Exploited Children Organization. No potential sightings have checked out.

If you have any information about the disappearance of Ricky Lane Thomas call Sergeant Steve Chambers with the Indiana State Police at 1-812-482-1441.
