Johnson wins Brickyard 400

INDIANAPOLIS (AP)- Jimmie Johnson became the first driver to win back-to-back races at The Brickyard when a speeding penalty knocked Colombian sensation Juan Pablo Montoya out of contention.

Montoya led 116 laps at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and had a five-second lead when NASCAR flagged him for speeding as he entered pit road with 35 laps left. He furiously denied driving too fast but the penalty dropped him to 12th and put the race up for grabs.

Mark Martin finished second and moved up two spots in the standings to ninth. Current points leader Tony Stewart was third, followed by Greg Biffle and Brian Vickers.
