Update, Wed. 5:10am: EVSC transportation director Mike Mentzel tells Newswatch that the EVSC will be on time Wednesday morning. Mentzel says they made the decision about 4:30 after getting word from the city, county and state snow crews on road conditions.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for most of southwest Indiana, southeast Illinois and Union, Henderson and Daviess Counties in Kentucky Wednesday morning.
A slow moving storm system dumped up to two inches of snow on the Evansville area overnight. Snow was still falling at 3:30am.
The Lloyd Expressway has been cleared of snow, but there are still numerous slick spots. Other main streets are reduced to one lane in many cases, with heavy, wet snow making control difficult. Side streets are snow covered and slippery, with heavy slush making driving hazardous.
