Roberts Stadium packed for Easter service

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Thousands packed Roberts Stadium for a massive Easter service.

The crowd started arriving early Sunday morning.

The service was presented by Crossroads Christian Church.

Thousands crowded into the arena to hear the Easter message and enjoy music from a band.

Organizers said it's a way to reach out to the community.

"It's designed really as a community outreach for the Easter service for those that perhaps don't have a regular church that they attend to, so they come to this community outreach and be a part of the Easter service here and feel welcome at Roberts Stadium," John Lee Smith with Crossroads Christian Church said.

This is an annual tradition for Crossroads Christian Church.

A fundraiser for the Henry family who lost their three children after a house fire in July did more than just raise money, it was inspiring.  Neighbors from the Fordsville area congregated at the Fordsville Volunteer Fire Department this afternoon to show support for the Henry family. To some it was a very emotional day, for others it was inspiring to see John and Christin Henry.
