Orlando,FL(WFIE)-Evansville native Jeff Overton fired a -4 under par 66 on the opening day of the Arnold Palmer invitational to trail by just one stroke in Orlando. Tiger Woods is just 2 strokes back at -2 after one day.

Overton sank a long birdie putt on the 7th hole before finishing with 11 straight pars and his 66. Overton was playing with Rocco Mediate, just one group ahead of Tiger Woods.

Overton talked with the Golf Channel after his terrific day. "I've been hitting the ball very well and the driver kept me in play today, I hit it awesome, and I don't know if I ever hit it in the long grass. So as deep as it is out here, if you can stay out of that stuff, you're doing alright."

The 2nd round is tomorrow in Orlando. Coverage of the Arnold Palmer Invitational can be seen on 14 WFIE this weekend starting Saturday afternoon.
