EVANSVILLE,IN(WFIE)-The University of Evansville mens basketball team saw it's season come to an end in the first round of the CollegeInsider.com tournament with a 92-76 loss to visiting Belmont.

UE fell behind by as many as 21 points to the hot shooting Bruins in the first half and never could rally. Belmont hit 17-35 from three point range and a scorching 52.5% from the floor overall in the 16 point win. Alex Renfro led the way for the visitors with 29 points. Country Music star Vince Gill, a Belmont alum, was in attendance cheering for the Bruins.

The Bruins hot shooting helped offset a tremendous effort by UE senior Shy Ely. Ely led UE with 28 points while teammate Nate Garner added 17 in the loss. Jason Holsinger was held to 5 points on 1-8 shooting.

UE finishes it's season 17-14 overall.
