HENDERSON CO., KY (WFIE) - The Henderson County's 2009-2010 school year could kick off with new look for students.

The school corporation has sent out a survey asking parents if they would like to see a uniform type dress code for students.

Parent Debbie Slaughter said, "The dress code has really gotten out of hand at some of the schools, and I think they just decided this would be good for everybody."

Using this survey, Henderson County schools hope to get feedback from parents about a new dress code.

"I don't think the clothes would be near as expensive and they would save a lot of money," said Slaughter.

Father of five Jesse Terrell said, "Everybody is looking the same, you don't have to worry about being in the right clique because you're not wearing the right clothes, and you can just concentrate on learning more."

Terrell said he didn't think it would be difficult for his kids to make the switch to collared shirts, solid pants, and belt, but his middle school daughter Rebecca didn't echo his opinion.

"I don't like button-up shirts or shirts tucked in," said Rebecca. "It just looks weird."

Whether these students wear uniforms or not, administrators and parents tell us it's time for kids to clean-up their appearance.

"Once you are out there looking for a job, you're not going to be able to dress like that," said Jesse.
