Suggestive Emails: Congressman In Rehab

New Media Producer: Kerry Corum

The Florida congressman who quit after questions emerged about his emails to teenage pages has checked himself into alcohol rehab.

His lawyer says Republican Mark Foley has entered treatment for alcoholism.

In a statement, Foley says he "deeply" regrets and accepts full responsibility for what he calls "the harm I have caused."

The FBI has begun investigating Foley's sexually charged emails and instant messages. House Speaker Dennis Hastert was among those who demanded a federal investigation after Foley's abrupt resignation on Friday.

The White House counselor calls the allegations against Foley shocking, although presidential spokesman Tony Snow says it's time to demand answers as to what happened, instead of calling for heads to roll.

Democrats charge that some House leaders may have known about the inappropriate overtures for months.
