Country star Keith Urban will not perform in Evansville Thursday night.
Roberts Stadium officials say the concert will be re-scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 1. Tickets for Thursday's concert will be honored at that time.
In a release from the singer, the reason for the cancellation is that Urban has what doctors are calling a ‘vocal fold hemorrhage.’ The release goes on to say:
“Keith basically has a bruise of his right vocal fold (or chord),” said Urban’s Otalaryngologist, Dr. Stephen Mitchell. “I’ve prescribed voice rest, which means no talking and no singing. We’ll re-evaluate him early next week and at that point we’ll make a determination as to how much longer we need to rest him or whether we can start to bring him back. I have no doubt that he’ll return back to full singing mode again. That is not in question.”
“I feel fine,” said Urban. “That is what is so frustrating about this situation. My apologies to all of our fans who have tickets, but I guarantee that we’ll rock with you in February.”
