INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Brian Kelly looks at Notre Dame's perfect record and sees flaws. The high-powered offense isn't operating exactly in sync. The stout defense that shut out Michigan is struggling with injuries. The injury rash is continuing and the little things are starting to pile up. Kelly knows the only way to make another serious national championship run is to get things fixed now.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) - Jay Cutler passed for three fourth-quarter touchdowns as the Bears beat the San Francisco 49ers 28-20 last night to spoil their Levi's Stadium debut. Cutler threw three TD passes to Brandon Marshall as Chicago erased a 13-point deficit and quieted the sellout crowd. Cutler threw for two scores in a 27-second span early in the final period.

CHICAGO (AP) - Rookie Trevor May struck out a season-high 10 in six innings as the Minnesota Twins overcame Jose Abreu's 35th home run to beat the Chicago White Sox 6-4 yesterday. Trevor Plouffe (pluhf) and Jordan Schafer homered for the Twins. May was staked to an early 4-0 lead and hung on to win his third straight start.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Josh Harrison hit a tying two-run double in a six-run fifth inning yesterday that helped the Pittsburgh Pirates rally past the Chicago Cubs 7-3. Edinson Volquez improved to 4-0 in his last 10 starts for the Pirates. Pittsburgh improved to 14-5 against Chicago this year and eliminated the Cubs from playoff contention.
