INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana have announced the signing of shooting guard Rodney Stuckey. The announcement comes less than a week after word leaked of the minimum-salary deal during the NBA's summer league in Las Vegas. The Pacers hope Stuckey fills the void left by last week's departure of Lance Stephenson.

CHICAGO (AP) - Chris Sale pitched seven effective innings in his first outing since the All-Star break to lead the Chicago White Sox to a 3-1 victory over the slumping Kansas City Royals last night. Sale allowed seven hits and a walk in seven innings. He struck out eight and now has allowed three runs or less in 14 of his 15 starts this season.

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper missed last night's game against the Kansas City Royals. Manager Robin Ventura says it is possible Cooper might miss a few more days. Cooper has been the White Sox's pitching coach since July 2002.

(AP) - The Chicago Bulls have re-signed guard Kirk Hinrich to a two-year deal. A person with knowledge of the deal tells The Associated Press that Hinrich will make $2.7 million next season. The contract includes a player option for the second year. Hinrich has spent nine of his 11 seasons with the Bulls.
