DETROIT (AP) - Moises Sierra had four hits to lift the Chicago White Sox to a 7-4 victory over the Detroit Tigers yesterday. The game quickly became a secondary concern in the Motor City when the Tigers acquired star left-hander David Price from Tampa Bay in a three-team deal. Joakim Soria hit Paul Konerko with the bases loaded in the seventh to give the White Sox a 5-4 lead.

CHICAGO (AP) - Jake Arrieta struck out seven in seven innings to lead the Chicago Cubs to a 3-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies yesterday. Arrieta allowed one run and three hits in his first victory since June 30th at Boston. The 6-foot-4 right-hander has a 1.73 ERA in his last 11 starts.

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Shelby Miller and three relievers combined on a three-hitter for the St. Louis Cardinals as they beat the San Diego Padres 6-2 yesterday. The Cardinals acquired right-hander John Lackey from Boston just before the trade deadline to bolster their rotation. They open a series today against NL Central-leading Milwaukee in St. Louis.

ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) - Sylvia Fowles had 16 points and 14 rebounds as the Chicago Sky beat the New York Liberty 87-74 in Elena Delle Donne's return last night. The Sky snapped a two-game skid. They move a half-game behind New York for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
