EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Evansville police are looking to arrest two people in an animal neglect case.

Back in September, Evansville police went to a home on Negley Avenue to investigate allegations of animal cruelty.

Police reported finding several animals including a dog that was in such bad shape, officers had a hard time determining what breed it was.

Police say the dog was covered in maggots inside a cage.

Officers inspected the duplex and left with three rabbits, a rat, three live dogs and one dead dog.

Neighbors who were on scene say the conditions inside the home were unsanitary.

According to police records, cops are searching for Danielle N. Helfrich and Andrew Blair Huntsman.

Anyone who knows their whereabouts should calls Evansville police at (812) 436-7896.
