OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) - An autopsy was performed Wednesday morning on 49-year old Richard Melton of Owensboro after he was taken off life support on Tuesday.
The coroner says preliminary results show Melton died from trauma.
Police say Melton got into a fight with his ex-girlfriend Thelina Kincaid last Friday and she beat him with a baseball bat.
Kincaid tells 14 News it was self defense.
The commonwealth's attorney has yet to decide whether it will press charges.
