HOPKINS CO., KY (WFIE) - A case of the H1N1 virus was reported in Hopkins County.

It's believed the patient got it while in Mexico last week.

Hopkins County community members are worried about a potential outbreak.

The local Red Cross, Hopkins County School District, and emergency personnel met with the health department to make preparations.

They say they have a plan.

"Letting the community know what is expected of us, what we would have to do, and what we might ask them to do to get the pods open and to get everyone vaccinated in Hopkins County," Hopkins County Health Department employee Lisa Hopper said.

The peak of swine flu cases is expected this fall.
