EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Saturday was one of the hottest days of the year, and it certainly felt like it.
Folks in Evansville used the Ohio River and local pools to keep cool, but the heat poses several health risks to even the healthiest person.
The American Red Cross advises folks to wear light clothing, drink plenty of water and find a place to cool off.
"If you do not have the resources or do not have access to air conditioning, you know, go to the mall, walk around or sit down, get out of the heat for a while," Emily Fehrenbacher with the Red Cross of Southwest Indiana said. "Um, our building is always open during business hours for folks to come in here and just sit down, take a break."
