EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Local charities got a big boost Tuesday. The Tri-State Medical Alliance donated $20,000 to various charities.
The Alliance assists with medical education and improving healthcare throughout the area.
One charity to benefit was Brain Injury Adventure Camp.
They got a check for $3,000 helping to provide outdoor camp for individuals with brain injuries and other special needs.
“We use that for scholarships for kids that come out that have low-income. And most of the time, kids with special needs, they’re in a low-income bracket. This gives them a chance to come, and offset our costs for food and activities,” said Tim Johns, Brain Injury Camp CEO.
In all, 10 charities got a donation to help their efforts in the community.
