EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - A special guest, and University of Evansville graduate, gave a presentation Monday night at the Crossroads Church.
Major General Mark Pillar played a big role during 9-11. He was the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander in Chief, U.S. Strategic Command on active duty at Offutt Air Force Base at the time.
Monday night, he gave a presentation on his experiences, working alongside George W. Bush.
“Everyone remained calmed, they focused on protecting the citizens of the US, we’re the dept. of defense and that was our job and how well the military worked with the gov’t, and what the civilian leaders and we did what we thought was best for the country,” said Pillar.
He was personally involved in most of strategic decisions made on 9-11.
