Teen sentenced for July ’18 murder

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - An Evansville teen was sentenced on Monday for a July 2018 murder.

Paris Cornell, 16-years-old, was found guilty of murdering Kevin Colon last month.

He was tried as an adult in that case. Monday, a judge sentenced him to 62 years in prison

Police say Colon was trying to buy marijuana from Cornell and Jahkei Mitchell, 16-years-old, in the parking lot of Sam’s Food Mart when he was shot last July.

Mitchell pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery back in February and received a three year sentence.
