Neighborhood Watch: 3 kids set fire at a playground, EPD looks for shoplifter

TRI-STATE (WFIE) - You’d think you’d be able to leave your house unlocked long enough to take your dog for a walk, but thieves are actually looking for that kind of thing.

Evansville Police are investigating a burglary in the 1600 block of South Grand Avenue on Sunday.

The victim said he left his house to walk his dog. When he came back 45 minutes later, his house had been ransacked.

Someone apparently walked through the unlocked front door, took prescription drugs, a flip phone and an outside planter.

Gone are the days when we could leave our door unlocked, even for a few minutes.

Evansville Police are looking for a man who is accused of shoplifting.

We don’t have a photo, only a description of the shoplifter.

EPD says someone ran out of Best Buy on the Lloyd Expressway Sunday carrying a Kenwood Receiver unit.

The suspect apparently escaped into the bathroom at MOD pizza and was last seen on the Starbuck’s parking lot, but officers were not able to catch up to him.

The suspect is described as having curly blond hair, wearing a black hoody with a Nike swoosh on the front.

Please call the Evansville Police Department at (812) 436-7896 if you know anything about this.
