VANDERBURGH CO., IN (WFIE) - Road crews out if full force to get a jump on the expected winter storm.
Crews in Vanderburgh County are using a brine mix rather than salt. They were hitting the bridges and hills throughout the city and county first.
Officials say they are monitoring the weather and will head back out on the roads once the snow starts.
“It depends on how the weather comes in," said Todd Robertson, Executive Director for Vanderburgh County Department of Transportation & Services. “Because we’re not experts on predicting the weather--I understand the weather people they do the best they can to try and give us the best information they have at that particular time--so, we air on the side of caution.”
