EPD investigating liquor store robbery

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Evansville police are looking for the man they say robbed a liquor store.

It happened at around 5:30 p.m. at the Liquor Locker on Fulton Avenue and Florida Street. Several surrounding roads were blocked off while police were on the scene.

Officers tell us a man armed with a gun was wearing either a white mask or white face paint and entered the store. They say the man pushed a female employee down, pulled out a handgun, demanded money..

Another employee hit the panic alarm, which alerted police to the scene.

We’re told the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and a bottle of liquor.

A sheriff’s deputy K-9 followed the suspect’s trail for a couple of blocks but lost him.

No one was seriously hurt, but the employee who was shoved down was taken to the hospital in an ambulance for minor back pain.

Police are reviewing surveillance video.
