Evansville chase reaches speeds near 100 mph

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - A man is in jail after a high-speed chase in Evansville.

State police say around 2 Wednesday morning a trooper tried to stop a car on Diamond near First Ave for a broken license plate light. They say the driver, 30-year-old Rasheen Middleton, of Evansville, didn’t stop and sped off.

We’re told the chase reached speeds around 100 mph at one point on Fulton Ave.

Troopers say the chase ended at SE Riverside at Oak. That’s where Middleton got out of the car and took off on foot. He was found hiding in a nearby garage by an Evansville police K-9.

Middleton is in the Vanderburgh County Jail on a long list of charges including, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and resisting law enforcement.
