MPD officer hurt during drug bust

MORGANFIELD, KY (WFIE) - One person is in jail and an officer was injured after a drug bust in Morganfield.

Morganfield police searched Skyler Paul Williams vehicle after he tried to run away which led to an officer being injured. During the search, police say they found:

  • three handguns
  • $4,800
  • 387.6 grams of methamphetamine
  • 173 grams of marijuana
  • other evidence indicating drug trafficking.

Police say they pulled Williams over for non-illuminating headlights. The say he could not produce his driver’s license. They also say Williams destroyed evidence by throwing a glass pipe over his shoulder.

When Williams ran off, a Morganfield police officer was injured during the chase. Sergeant Eric McAllister was transported to Union County Hospital where he was treated and released. We caught up with the officer who says he is fine now and plans to be back at work Wednesday.

Williams was also transported to Union County Hospital where he was treated and was released. After he was released, he was booked in the Union County Jail.

Williams is being charged with failure to illuminate headlamps, tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of a control substance, trafficking in marijuana, and fleeing police.
